INSTRUCTIONS FOR POND GUARD SHUFFLE
GENERAL
The Pond Guard Shuffle protects your pond fish against herons and cats by means of glaring
flashes of light and penetrating noise of animals of prey, including an ultrasonic sound which
is inaudible for men. By installing this unique Pond Guard on the edge of the pond you will trigger
an immediate flight response that will stop cats and herons getting close to the pond and so
catching all your valuable fish. The concept is ingenious, yet simple: at an angle of 180° and within
a radius of not more than 25 metres, a movement sensor will detect an approaching heron (or cat)
and immediately emit a number of glaring flashes and the penetrating sound of animals of prey.
Result: the heron or cat takes flight, not to return to this pond in a hurry.

INSTALLATION
l Install the Pond Guard at the edge of the pond, if possible opposite the place where any herons
or cats could be expected to appear.
l Firmly dig the aluminium stand straight in the soil (ca 30 cm).
l Push the aluminium pipe with the unit attached to it on the stand and tighten the screws.
In mounted position the unit should be ca 70 cm above water level.
l Turn the unit towards the place where you can expect any herons or cats to appear (see A)
and tighten the screws.
l Choose the OFF position and put the plug in the receptacle.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
l A movement sensor has been mounted in the unit. The detection angle is ca 180° and the
maximum range is ca 25 metres. With the help of the knob the range of the sensor can be set,
up to 25 metres (B). The graduation is indicative. You will have to determine the range by
experiment. The movement sensor has been adjusted ex works at movements of objects
from the size of a cat and larger. Small animals and birds will not be detected.
l The unit has a 3-position switch:
OFF
on with flash and ultrasonic sound
on with flash and noise, including ultrasonic sound
Of course flash combined with sound is most effective.
l As soon as the Pond Guard has been activated, the red LED will start blinking. After ca 1 minute
the LED will stop burning for a few seconds and the surrounding area will be measured in order
to calibrate the sensor. NOT ANY MOVEMENT WILL BE ALLOWED THEN WITHIN REACH
