Dangers, Warnings and Cautions

DANGER
Installation, Commissioning, and all other Maintenance should be performed only by trained personnel
in accordance with the manual and local codes to prevent damage to equipment
Install only in accordance with specification table in the manual for proper environments
Install per recommended procedures in the manual for proper mounting, fastening, wiring (see wiring
diagram), and grounding to ensure proper operation
Prior to power-up, ensure that all external devices are properly connected and use only voltages and
cabling specified in the circuit and wiring specification section of the manual
For network connections, refer to the Test Menu section of the manual for proper address communica-
tion prior to commissioning
Follow all warnings, cautions and instructions
Monitor suitability is the responsibility of that systems integrator
Routinely check for proper operation and replace damaged or non-operating devices immediately
Remove printed circuit board prior to mounting enclosures or removing knock-outs from enclosures
Alarms are factory set in accordance with OSHA and other regulations. Change only in accordance
with local codes. Always repeat commissioning after changing alarm settings.
Use appropriate ESD protection while handling the PC board (PCBA) and during installation.
Except for models in NEMA-rated enclosures, care should be taken to protect equipment from water,
snow, and excessive humidity. Do not install in wash-down areas.
Risk of electrical shock - disconnect all power (input and relay) before servicing.
Keep all devices and wire runs away from mercury vapor lights, variable speed drives, radio repeaters
or other RFI sources.
Selecting buzzer means that pressing the Silence key will turn off the unit's audible alarm. Selecting Rel
#1, #2 or #3 means that pressing the Silence key will deactivate a relay that was activated by an alarm.
Full system commissioning or system check MUST be performed to ensure proper operation.
301-EM: Selecting the "OTHER" event type creates an event with all fields and events are blank.
Therefore, no events will appear when pressing the arrows. Events must be created before they appear
in the scroll list. To comply with ASHRAE 15 and CSA B52 standards, Type 1, 2 or 3 must be used.
Once the configuration type has been selected, it can no longer be changed without erasing ALL
events and reconfiguring the system anew.
Never calibrate any unit's Zero with ambient air. Always use Nitrogen (N
Zero Grade Air for all other technologies at the calibration port or with the approved calibration cap.
After all the devices in a system have been installed, verify that each device has a unique communica-
tion address. If needed, change the communication address for each device before scanning the net-
work. The 301-ADI Modbus address must be set to 097 for it to be recognized by the 301-C and AA96D
controllers.
