Skid Shoes
Position the skid shoes based on surface conditions. Adjust upward
for hard-packed snow. Adjust downward when operating on gravel or
crushed rock surfaces.
Electric Starter Button
Press the electric starter button engages the engine's electric starter
when plugged into a 120V power source.
Auger
When engaged, the augers rotate and draw snow into the auger
housing.
Auger control (Fig.19)
The auger control is located on the right handle. Squeeze the control
grip against the handlebar to engage the auger and start snow throwing
action. Release the control grip to disengage power and apply brake to
stop the auger.
Drive control (Fig.20)
The drive control is located on the right handle. Squeeze the control
grip against the handlebar to engage the wheel drive for propelling unit.
Release control grip to stop movement.
Note: Always release the drive control before changing speeds, failure
to do so will result in increased wear on your machine's drive system.
Chute direction control and deflector (Fig.21)
Discharge chute rotates 190º. The chute direction control is located on
left side of the snow thrower. To change the direction in which snow is
thrown, turn chute control as follows,
‡ Control bar clockwise to discharge to the left
‡ Control bar counterclockwise to discharge to the right
Always position discharge chute in safe direction and angle, away
from operator and bystanders before starting engine.
Place deflector into position with safe angle before starting engine,
do not throw snow any higher than necessary.
‡ Loosen the deflector knob
‡ Push deflector down to throw snow lower and pull deflector up to
throw snow higher
‡ Retighten the deflector knob
