Installation
WARNING: TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK OR DEATH, unplug cord or turn off
power at circuit breaker or fuse and test that the power is off before wiring.
1.
Select size and type of round cord as per your requirements.
NOTE: Device will accommodate cords from 14/3 type SJ to 10/3
type S (0.36 in. to 0.72 in.) round cords.
2.
Loosen assembly screws and separate device body from housing.
3.
Back out clamp screws to remove strain relief insert if required.
NOTE: The strain relief will accommodate cords 0.36 in. to 0.43 in. with
strain relief insert installed, and from 0.43 in. to 0.72 in. with strain relief
insert removed.
4.
Feed wiring cord through housing.
5.
Strip cord jacket and each conductor insulation per the image below or as
per strip gauge printed on the side of plug/connector module.

CAUTIONS:
• Use this device WITH STRANDED COPPER WIRE ONLY.
• Wire size and type must comply with appropriate local electrical codes. In USA refer to
NEC tables article 400.
• Keep all levers in the closed position except when wiring the product.
6.
Connect wires.
a.
Fully open lever.
b.
Fully insert wire into proper wire well.
c.
Close lever and connect the remaining wires.
NOTE: Where applicable it is recommended to connect GROUND wire first.
CAUTION: Levers MUST contact on conductor only, NOT on insulation.
DO NOT USE SOLID WIRE. DO NOT TIN CONDUCTORS.
7.
Reattach the wired module to the housing by aligning key guide on the
module to the key on the housing, and tighten the assembly screws firmly
to 10-14 in.-Ib. torque. Firmly secure cord clamp on to housing by alternately
tightening cord clamp screws to 8-10 in.-lb. torque.
NOTE: Polarity of wiring for NEMA devices is identified by markings on
device and/or lever color as shown below.
