Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply by taking the power cord out of the
socket before emptying the basket, replacing the UV lamp, or carrying out other mainte-
nance.
Keep the appliance away from sources of moisture and water. Never immerse the appliance
in water or any other liquid.
Do not insert fi ngers or other objects into the lamp when powered on.
Set the lamp in a place ensuring free air fl ow and where the UV lamp light is easily visible to
insects.
OPERATING THE LAMP
Preparing for operation
Unpack the appliance by removing all packaging components. The covers can be secured during transport with adhesive tape
which should be removed. Clean the external surfaces of the appliance according to the instructions contained in the "Appliance
maintenance" section. Set the appliance according to the instructions.
The lamp can be hanged. Use the hook located on the top of the lamp for hanging. Use a rope or string to hang the lamp (not
included). The location of hanging the lamp should be chosen so as to minimise the impact of wind.
Turning the lamp on/off
Place the lamp in the place of use according to the recommendations.
Turn the lamp on by pressing the switch and moving it to the "on" position – I. The UV light will light up and the fan will start.
The lamp is turned off when the power switch is set to the off position – O. The UV tube light will go out and the fan will stop after
a short while.
Changing the UV tube light (II)
Warning! Make sure the appliance is disconnected from the power supply before replacing the UV tube light. The power cord
plug is unplugged from the socket.
The UV tube light is located under the lamp cover. Disassemble the lamp so as to access to the tube lights. Wear gloves while re-
placing the tube lights. Turn the tube and pull it out of the sockets. Insert a new tube into the sockets on both sides and then turn it.
After replacing the tube light, the lamp must be assembled.
Lamp maintenance (III)
Warning! Before maintenance, make sure that the appliance is disconnected from the power supply. The power cord plug is
unplugged from the socket.
Rotate the insect container so that it can be pulled out of the housing.
Remove the trap insert from the container and then empty the container of insects.
The container and traps can be cleaned with a soft brush or a brush with plastic bristles. Be careful not to damage both compo-
nents during cleaning. Both components can also be cleaned with a stream of lukewarm, running water or by immersing them
in water. A small amount of dishwashing liquid can be used for cleaning. In case of wet cleaning, dry the container and traps
thoroughly before reinstalling them in the lamp.
Clean other parts of the lamp with a damp cloth, then dry or leave them to dry. Do not immerse the lamp in water or any other liquid.
