Using for the first time
Charging the battery pack
Note: Rechargeable battery and charger
are not part of the scope of delivery and are
available optionally from your dealer
(► Accessories – p. 38).
WARNING! Risk of injury! Comply with all
safety instructions when handling recharge-
able devices.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the unit! Do
not allow the battery pack to deep discharge.
Note: If the battery is fully loaded, the
charger automatically switches over to the
maintenance charge function. The battery
can thus remain in the charger permanently.
The battery pack must be charged prior to the first
start-up (charging time: ► Technical data – p. 37).
– Press in the locking button (13) and remove the
battery from the device.
– Insert the battery pack into the charger.
– Plug the charger into the power supply.
The charging status is displayed by the control
lights (14).
– Slot the battery pack into the device and make
sure it clicks into place correctly.
Checking the remaining capacity of the battery
– Press the button (12).
The remaining capacity of the battery is displayed by
the control lights (11).
Fitting the saw blade
DANGER! Risk of injury! Remove the
rechargeable battery before doing any work
on the device.
WARNING! Risk of injury! Shortly after
sawing, the saw blade may be very hot. Risk
of burning! Allow a hot blade to cool down.
Never clean a hot saw blade with flammable
liquids.
CAUTION! Risk of injury! Even a saw
blade which is at a standstill can still cut!
Always wear gloves when replacing the saw
blade.

– Twist the locking sleeve (17) by 90° and hold.
– Place the saw blade (8) as far as it will go into the
holder.
– Release the locking sleeve (17).
– Ensure that the blade is securely fitted into place.
Operation
Check before switching on!
Check to make sure the unit is in a safe operating
condition:
– Check to make sure there are no visible defects.
– Check to make sure all unit components are cor-
rectly mounted.
Switching on and off
– Switching on: Press the switch lock (1) and simul-
taneously press the On/Off switch (2).
– Switching off: Release the On/Off switch.
Note: The stroke rate of the device can be
varied by applying different pressures to the
On/Off switch.
Setting the cutting angle
The unit allows you to set a cutting angle of up to 45°.

– Loosen the screws (18).
– Swing the foot plate (6) into the required angle.
– Tighten the screws (18) back up again.
