3. Installation
The device can be used as a desktop or wall-mounted station. It should preferably be installed
at an easily accessible point outside the ESD protective zone (e.g. at the entrance to
production, etc.). The device itself is held on the mounting plate by 4 Dual Lock snap locks and
can thus be removed and replaced very easily. The mounting plate is fixed in place with 4
screws. Screws, anchor bolts and spacers are included in delivery.
The base plate for the footwear electrode has a
non-slip, insulating covering. The floor on which the
plate is laid must be flat and even. The connecting
cable (D) is connected to Socket (11) on the tester.
The other ends are connected to the footwear
electrode. The red cable must be connected to the
right shoe electrode.
The power supply is connected to socket (10).
4. Device settings
4.1 Basic setting
The device is connected to the mains and «WELCOME» appears on the display. Neither the
LED indicator (5+6) nor the display (4) light up. The device automatically returns to the basic
setting 1min after not using.
4.2 Test setup
There are 3 slide switches on the back of the device.
No. 1: «Shoe-to-Shoe» test
When the slide switch is pushed up (ON), the tester continuously
measures the resistance between the shoes. To deactivate or
activate the function, the tester must be shortly disconnected from
the mains.
No. 2: Fixation of the test program
As soon as the slide switch is pushed up (ON), the last selected
test program remains stored and is automatically applied for a
new test.
The test selector buttons are inactive.
No. 3: Deactivation of the lower limit for shoe tests
As soon as the slide switch is pushed up (ON), the lower limit
value is no longer taken into account for shoe tests.
