Align the marks, holes facing together, and continue
the new line already scribed on the bottom rail along
the top rail. Hold both rails up against the posts to
verify that the cuts will work [Figure 4].

Attach a clip to each end of the bottom and top rails so that
the clip is flush with the drilled face of the rail, using two
screws through the pre-drilled holes [Figure 5].

Set the bottom rail so that the overall height of the finished
rail, when measured vertically from the stair tread or
landing to the top of the 2x4 handrail, will be 2'11" (or the
height required by local building codes). Fasten the bottom
rail to the posts with three screws through the pre-drilled
holes in the clips [Figure 6].

Insert a baluster with angled stair connectors
into each drilled hole in the bottom rail
[Figure 7]. (The kit includes 10 balusters
with stair connectors for railing on one side
of a 4-step pre-manufactured stair stringer.)

Invert the top drilled rail and slide on top of
the stair connectors of the standing balusters
[Figure 8].
