MAINTENANCE
The visor must be washed and cleaned after every
use. Care must be taken to ensure that the visor is not
scratched. It is best to use a mild solution of soap and
water. Wipe with a soft cloth. Avoid hard cloths since
they may scratch the visor. Regular maintenance
and cleaning of the visor guarantees a high level of
wearing comfort. Ensure that the visor is regularly
inspected for serviceability.
STORAGE
The visor must be stored in a dry and clean
environment out of direct sun light, e.g. in its original
packaging.
DURABILITY
It is difficult to predict the life of a visor. When used
outdoors, it is recommended that the visor should
be replaced at least two years after first use. The
visor may need to be replaced more often in harsch
operating conditions. A visor that has been damaged,
scratched or subjected to impact should be replaced
immediately.
WARNING
• This product is no substitute for safe working
techniques.
• When subject to high speed particles, impacts
may be transmitted when wearing a visor over
standard ophthalmic spectacles, creating a
hazard to the wearer. If the impact marking F
or B is not followed immediately by the letter T,
the visor should only be used against high
speed particles in room temperature.
• The mesh visor does not protect against
liquid splash (including molten metal), hot
solids, electrical hazards, infrared and ultra
violet radiation. Neither does the visor provide
adequate protection against particles
thrown at high speed, e.g. when working with
clearing saws or cut-off machines. We
recommend the use of additional
eye protection (safety glasses) complying with
EN166 or other appropriate directive.
• Do not allow this visor to come into contact
with pointed or sharp objects (chainsaw chain,
metal tools etc.) or aggressive substances
such as aggressive detergents, acids, oils,
solvents, fuels etc.
• Contact with hot objects (exhaust, etc.) and
other sources of heat (open fire, stove etc.)
should also be avoided.
• In the event of a combination of products
with different markings, the lowest safety class
marking applies. Visors with symbol 9 (molten
metal droplets) must be fitted to a carrier
marked F or B together with symbol 9. Visors
with symbol 8 (short circuit electric arc) must
be fitted with a filter of scale no: 2-1,2 or 3-1,2
and have a thickness of 1.4 mm.
• Any modifications to the visor can impair the
protective effect. Therefore, do not modify the
visor in any way. If the visor has been modified
it must be disposed of immediately.
• It is important to wear your face protection at all
times when risk of hazards occur.
• Material that comes into contact with the skin
may cause allergic reactions to some users.
Further information is available from the manufacturer.
