Shutting down the appliance
13.1 Initial startup
1.
Open the hot and cold water supply line valves.
Open the faucet's hot water tap and it let run until water
without any bubbles comes out (at least 3–5 min). Observe
the faucet instructions when doing so.
Once the stream is free of air bubbles, close the hot water
tap.
Check to ensure none of the plumbing connections are
leaking.
Insert the plug into the grounded receptacle.
Note
If the proper sequence (first water, then power) is not
followed, it will trigger the dry-run protection.
13.1.1 Dry-run protection check
At initial startup and after every power interruption, the appliance
control board performs a dry-run protection check. The dry-run
protection check will take approximately 60 seconds.
During the dry-run protection check:
- Different symbols and texts are shown on the display
- The display's backlighting is switched on
- Do not use the appliance
- Do not disconnect the appliance from the power supply
- Do not draw off water from the appliance at the faucet
If the dry-run protection has responded due to a lack of water in
the appliance, the fault code "E1" is displayed. The appliance is
locked out of restarting for 5 minutes.
Proceed as follows:
Ensure the cold and hot water supply valves are open.
Fill the appliance with water via the hot water valve on the
tap.
After a lockout time of 5 minutes, the appliance carries out a
new boil-dry protection check.
If the fault continues to be displayed, reset the appliance
(P6 = on).
13.1.2 Boiling point detection
After the dry-run check has completed successfully, the appliance
starts the automatic boiling point detection.
During this time "boil" is displayed. The red LED is constantly illu-
minated. Boiling point detection takes approximately 15 minutes.
The duration depends on the cold water temperature.
Once boiling point detection has been completed, the maximum
temperature determined is shown on the display and set as the
preferred temperature.

13.1.3 Appliance handover
Explain the function of the appliance to the user. Familiarize
them with its operation.
Tell the user about potential hazards, especially the risk of
scalding.
Hand these instructions to them, along with the instructions
for any accessories.
13.2 Restarting the appliance
See the section "Installation / Commissioning / Initial startup".
14. Shutting down the appliance
Disconnect the appliance from the power supply by unplug-
ging it or switching off the circuit breaker at the load center.
Drain the appliance (see "Installation / Maintenance / Drain-
ing the Appliance").
15. Error messages
Flashing LEDs are used to indicate errors. The corresponding fault
code appears on the display:
