This will provide stability for the pump during operation.
– Before operating the pump, ensure that the coupler on the head is securely fi tted to the coupler
on the hose.
– Open the latch (11) to release the spring-loaded pedal (40) (see Fig 3a). Commence operation
by pumping the pedal (09).
– Continue pumping (see Fig. 3b) until the operation is complete (dies touching for the crimping
head and cable cut through for the cutting head).
Note: for crimping heads, it is recommended to continue pumping until the maximum pressure valve
is actived and a "click" is heard.
– To release the oil pressure and return the head to the rest position, depress the pedal (31) until
the ram fully retracts (see Fig. 3c).
2.2) Pedal rotation
In order to use the pump in the most comfortable position, it is possible to turn the pedal through
180°, to do so:
– Extract the knob (02).
– Rotate the pedal (01).
– Insert the knob (02) to lock the pedal.
2.3) Hook to a ladder
The pump has been designed to be used both in horizontal and vertical position with the fl exible
hose turned upward.
It is possible to attach the pump to a rung of a ladder using the hook (74).
2.4) Storage
After completion of the work, store the pump in the steel case with the pressure fully released.
– Depress pedal (09) and lock in position with the latch (11).
– Fully release the oil pressure by depressing the pressure release pedal (31).
– Coil the hose, in wide loops around the pump.
– Place the pump in the steel case.
3. WARNING
The tool is robust and requires very little daily maintenance. Compliance with the following points,
should help to maintain the optimum performance of the pump:
3.1) Accurate cleaning
Dust, sand and dirt are a danger for any hydraulic device.
Every day, after use, the tool must be cleaned with a clean cloth, taking care to remove any residue,
especially close to pivots and moveable parts.
3.2) Storage
(Ref. to Fig. 6)
When not in use, the tool should be stored and transported in the steel case, to prevent damage.
Steel case: VAL-22; size: 705x285x180 mm (27.7x11.2x7.1 in.); weight: 7 kg (15.4 lbs).
