INTENDED USE
This tool is intended to be used with abrasive sanding discs for the fi nish sanding of materials such as
wood, metal, fi berglass and similar materials. If it is used for anything else, it is considered misuse, creates
a hazard and may void the warranty.
AIR SUPPLY
The effi ciency and life of this tool depend on the proper supply of clean, dry air at a maximum of 90 PSI. The
use of an airline fi lter, pressure regulator, and lubricator is recommended. Before connecting to tools, blow
out the airline to remove water and dirt that may have accumulated.
HOSE AND HOSE CONNECTIONS
The air supply hose recommended is 3/8" (10mm) I.D. If an extension hose is necessary, use 1/2" (13mm)
ID hose with couplings not less than 3/8" (10mm) I.D. The tool inlet thread is 1/4" NPT.
LUBRICATION
For maximum performance and tool life, an airline lubricator, set to deliver 1 drop per minute. Snap-on IM6
Air Motor Oil is recommended. If an airline lubricator is not used, add 8 to 10 drops of air motor oil to the air
inlet at the start of the day and run the tool for 10-20 seconds.
Do not over lubricate because excess oil may contaminate the surface being sanded.
MAINTENANCE
Water, dust and other airline contaminants can cause rust and vane sticking. After long idle periods, fl ush
the tool with a few drops of oil and run for 10 seconds. This will help remove contaminants and reduce the
formation of rust.
OPERATION
Speed of the tool may be adjusted by turning the regulator located near the air inlet.
Disconnect tool from air supply before installing or removing backing
INSTALLING BACKING PADS
Hold spindle nut with wrench.
Thread pad into spindle and tighten.
INSTALLING SANDING DISC
· PSA
Remove backing paper from sanding disc.
Center on backing pad and apply fi rm pressure.
· HOOK and LOOP
Center sanding pad on backing pad and apply fi rm pressure.
The use of any accessory with this tool not provided or specifi ed by Snap-on
can perform unpredictably.
Use only accessories provided or specifi ed by Snap-on.
Tools that perform unpredictably can cause injury.
When disposing of a tool, do it in a way that does not harm personnel or
the environment.

Be sure the pad is the correct size for the tool.
A mismatch between tool and pad will cause excessive vibration.
