1 - Description
This protection device is recommended for connection of electric tools to generators. Generators
are autonomous power sources which do not allow a constant output voltage when simultaneous loads
are connected. Devices connected to them, which dispose of speed, power, welding current or other
controls, are subject to voltage oscillations which, in many cases, reach values that these controls do
not support.
To eliminate risks of damage provoked by these oscillations this device is intercalated between
generators and devices, cutting voltage output when values upper 260 Volt are exceeded and
restabilising it when voltage output return to normal value.
2 - Connection to power source
Before connecting electric tools, verify that:
- Generator disposes of protective device against over charges and its power is compatible with
maximum power and input voltage of your electrical tool (indicated in respective data sheet).
- Single phase earth connection, must be performed by means of a socket suitable to electrical
tool maximum load.
- It is absolutely necessary to set a good earth connection with the green/yellow wire of the
power cable. This will avoid discharges caused by accidental contacts with grounded pieces. If no
earth connection has been set, a high risk of electric shock through the chassis of the unit, remains
possible.
- Connect electrical tool to over voltage protector socket.
- Connect over voltage protector to generator.
- The electric tool is ready to start working.
