6. Maintenance
Maintenance must only be performed by specialist personnel.
N.B.: Always use original spares supplied by the manufacturer.
Failure to do so renders the manufacturer not liable for incorrect
unit operation.

MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

Cooling coil
Verify the state of the coil; if necessary clean it as follows:
• in spring: clean using a vacuum cleaner (or compressed air).
• in summer: this being the hottest period, keep the coil as
clean as possible, with a vacuum cleaner (or compressed air)
and, if necessary, with water.
• in winter: clean with water (with the fan off ).
• if necessary (coil blocked) remove the fan and clean the coil
in the opposite direction to the air fl ow using a high pressure
water jet (this operationmust be performed by a technician to
avoid damage).
Compressed air circuit
If the air compressor consumes signifi cant quantities of oil, peri-
odically wash the tubing as follows:
Disconnect the air inlet and outlet. Force a chlorinated solvent
(which must be neither strongly acid or alkaline) through the air
tubing with a centrifugal pump to remove the carbon deposits (en-
sure the tubing is perfectly dry and free from solvent vapour before
reassembling).
Filter/Regulator - Lubricator - Motor Group
N.B.: Before performing any maintenances isolate the FR+L group
and then slowly drain it.
• Filter/Regulator:
Th e aft ercooler is supplied with a fi lter element which should
be periodically cleaned with water (slightly soaped) and washed
clean. Th e element is removed by twisting it in a clockwise
direction (and re-installed by screwing it in an anti-clockwise
direction, paying careful attention to ensure a true fi t).
Th e cup must be drained at least once during each working
cycle using the manual drain valve.
Do not use solvents for the cleaning of the cup.
Pressure calibration is carried out using the regulation lever,
checking, fi rstly, that the lever is lift ed out of its safety-lock
position; turning it clockwise to increase the pressure and anti-
-clockwise to decrease pressure.
An increase in pressure increases the velocity of the fan motor
and, hence, the cooling capacity.
Periodically remove the plug, (this can be done without remov-
ing the regulator from the line) and clean the valve and seat.
When installing the valve aft er cleaning we recommend that a
sealant be applied to the screw thread (Loctite 241).
• Lubricator
Periodically check the oil level, fi lling when necessary to about
half of the body capacity. Only use clean oil, preferably SAE 10
or a light paraffi n based oil.
WARNING: Do not attempt to remove the body while the unit
is pressurized. Relieve the pressure by un- screwing the on-off
valve provided.
Th e amount of oil delivered can be controlled by turning the
regulation screw (H) (anti-clockwise to increase it, clockwise to
reduce it). Periodically remove the regulation screw and clean
the seat and pin using a compressed air gun.
English
Eliminate any impurities which may have been deposited in the
bottom of the cup. Do not use solvents for the cleaning of the
cup, it is suffi cient to use lightly soap water and then rinsing
with water.
• Motor
Th e motor does not require any maintenance as long as it is
supplied with clean and lubricated air.
N.B. Periodically check the motor lubricating oil to ensure that
it is not contaminated or oxidized.
More detailed information is available with the motor specifi ca-
tion.
7. Spare parts list (see Fig. 6)
It is recommended the use of original spare parts.
When placing an order quote the part's code, as well as the unit's
model no. and serial no.
