1. GENERAL INFORMATION GENERAL DESCRIPTION The AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation Model ATH18G40 High-Gain Horn Antenna is a complete, self- contained unit that is well-suited for either shielded room or free-space radiated emissions or radiated susceptibility testing over a frequency range of 18–40 GHz. The Model ATH18G40 has a power-handling capability of 450 watts (W) with a minimum gain of 15.2dB at 18 GHz, increasing linearly to more than 21.2dB at 40 GHz.
Page 16
ATH18G40 1.4.1 Connections Waveguide losses, especially at the lower and higher frequencies, can be minimized by utilizing low-loss waveguide. The waveguide should be terminated with a WRD 180 C24 waveguide connector in order to mate with the WRD 180 C24 waveguide connector provided on the antenna. 1.4.2 Power Amplifier Selection When used in a shielded room, reflections and room losses will reduce the available microwave (MW) field.

Model ATH18G40 Antenna 18GHz–40GHz The Model ATH18G40 is a wide band, high gain, high power microwave horn antenna. With a minimum gain of 15.2dB over isotropic, the Model ATH18G40 supplies the high intensity fields necessary for RFI/EMI field testing within and beyond the confines of a shielded room. The Model ATH18G40 is extremely compact and light weight for ready mobility, yet is built tough enough for the extra demands of outdoor use and easily mounts on a rigid waveguide by the waveguide flange.
