This manual has safety information and instructions to help you
eliminate or reduce the risk of accidents and injuries.
Understand Signal Words
A signal word will identify safety messages and property damage
messages, and also will indicate the degree or level of hazard
seriousness.
WARNING
Indicates a hazardous situation that, if not avoided,
could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION
Indicates a hazardous situation that, if not avoided,
could result in minor or moderate injury:
NOTICE: Used to address practices not related to physical
injury.

To reduce the risk of accidents and injuries, please observe the
following directives before proceeding to use this product:
• Read and follow all safety information and instructions.
• Read and understand these instructions before using this
product.
Introduction
This manual is part of this thermoelectric cooler ("cooler") and
contains important instructions concerning safety, use, and
disposal. Before using the cooler, please familiarize yourself
with all operating and safety instructions. Only use the cooler as
described and for the indicated purpose. If you pass the cooler
on to anyone else, include all of the documentation.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage in the following
cases:
• Faulty assembly or connection
• Damage to the cooler resulting from mechanical influences
and excess voltage
• Alterations to the cooler without express permission from the
manufacturer
• Use for purposes other than those described in this manual
General Safety Messages
WARNING: ELECTRICAL SHOCK, FIRE, EXPLOSION,
AND/OR HEALTH HAZARD. Failure to obey the
following warnings could result in death or serious
injury:
• Do not store any explosive substances such as spray cans
with a flammable propellant in the cooler.
• Do not operate the cooler if it is visibly damaged.
• If this cooler's power cable is damaged, it must be replaced
by the manufacturer, customer service, or a similarly qualified
person.
• When positioning the cooler, ensure the power cable is not
trapped or damaged.
• Do not use multi-socket outlets, extension cords, or portable
power supplies with the cooler.
• This cooler and the power cable are not toys. Always keep
and use them out of the reach of children.

• This cooler can be used by children aged from eight years
and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruction on using the
cooler in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
• Children aged from three to eight years are allowed to load
and unload cooler.
CAUTION: ELECTRICAL SHOCK AND/OR HEALTH
HAZARD. Failure to obey the following cautions could
result in minor or moderate injury:
• Before starting the cooler, ensure that the power cable and
the plug are dry.
• Disconnect the cooler from the power cable before each
cleaning, maintenance, and after every use.
• Check if the cooling capacity of the cooler is suitable for
storing the food or medicine you wish to cool.
• Food may only be stored in its original packaging or in
suitable containers. Store raw meat and fish in suitable
containers so that it is not in contact with or can drip onto
other food.
• Opening the cooler for long periods can cause significant
increase of the temperature in the compartments.
• Clean regularly surfaces that can come in contact with food
and accessible drainage systems.
• If the cooler is left empty for long periods:
• Switch off the cooler.
• Defrost the cooler.
• Clean and dry the cooler.
• Leave the lid open to prevent mold from developing within
the cooler.
NOTICE: Failure to obey the following notices could result in
damage to the cooler.
• Check that the voltage specification on the type plate
corresponds to that of the energy supply.
• Only connect the cooler as follows: with the DC power cable
to a DC power supply, or with the DC plug (inserted into the
Y50 AC-to-DC adaptor) to an AC power supply.
• If the cooler is connected to a DC outlet: disconnect the
cooler and other power consuming devices from the battery
before connecting a quick charging device.
• If the cooler is connected to a DC outlet: disconnect the
cooler or switch it off when you turn off the engine. Otherwise
you may discharge the battery.
• Do not pull the plug out of the socket by the cable.
• The cooler is not suitable for transporting caustic materials or
materials containing solvents.
• Do not use electrical devices inside the cooler unless they are
recommended by the manufacturer for the purpose.
• Do not place the cooler near open flames or other heat
sources such as heaters, direct sunlight, or gas ovens.
• Risk of overheating: ensure at all times that there is a
minimum of 2 in. (50 mm) ventilation on all four sides of the
cooler. Keep the ventilation area free of any objects that could
restrict the air flow to the cooling components. Do not place
the cooler in closed compartments or areas with minimal air
flow.
• Do not fill the inner container with ice or fluids.
• Protect the cooler and cables against heat and moisture.
• Never immerse the cooler in water.
