9. Begin by removing the long straps (45) from the ground level
ratchets (22) and let them hang down on either side of the tree.
SEE FIGURE 3.
10. Hook the large carabiner (47) to one of the long straps (45) that
are hanging down near the tree. SEE FIGURE 3. If the tree has
branches between the ground and the top of the stand,
proceed to the next step. If the tree is free of branches
between the ground and the top of the stand, skip ahead to
STEP 12.
