other conditions that may aff ect the operation of the power tool. Damage must be repaired before using the power tool.
Many accidents are caused by incorrectly maintained tools.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp edges are less prone to jamming and are
easier to control when working.
Use power tools, accessories and inserted tools etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the type
and conditions of work. The use of tools for work other than designed is likely to result in a dangerous situation.
Handles and gripping surfaces must be dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and gripping surfaces do
not allow for safe operation and control of the tool in dangerous situations.
Repairs
Repair the power tool only in authorized facilities using only original spare parts. This ensures proper operation safety of the power tool.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When you work with the pole pruner you should keep away all parts of the body from the chain. Before starting the pole
pruner, you should make sure that the chain has no contact with anything. A moment of inattention while operating the pole
pruner may cause entanglement of clothing or body parts in the chain of pruner.
Wear protective gloves and hearing protection. It is recommended to also to have a protection of head, hands, the legs and
feet. Suitable protective clothing reduces the risk of injuries due to contact with waste or due to accidental contact with the chain.
You should not work with the pole pruner, while you are on the tree. Operation of the pole pruner, while you are on the tree,
may result in injury.
Always maintain proper posture and operate the pole pruner while standing on a stationary, secure and level surface.
Slippery or unstable surface, eg. a ladder can result in loss of balance or loss of control of the pole pruner.
When cutting a stretched branch, you should beware of its rebound. If you release the tension, which is accumulated in the
fi bers of the wood, the branch may strike the operator and/or deprived of control of the pole pruner
Particular care must be taken while cutting shrubs and young trees. Slender material may catch the chain and push the pole
pruner in the direction of the operator or unbalance the operator.
Move the pole pruner when it is switched off and keep it away from your body. When transporting or storing the pole
pruner you should always install the chain guide cover. The proper keeping of the pole pruner reduces the possibility of ac-
cidental contact with moving parts of the pole pruner.
Follow instructions for the chain saw lubrication, the chain tensioning and replacement of accessories. Improperly ten-
sioned or improperly lubricated chain can break and to increase the chance of rebound towards the operator.
The handles must be kept dry, clean and free from grease and oil. Oily or coated with grease handles are slippery and cause
loss of control of the pole pruner
Cut only wood. Do not use the pole pruner for a work to which it was not intended. For example: do not cut the plastic,
concrete, or non-wooden building materials. The use of pole pruner to perform works, other than it was intended for, can result
in hazardous situations.
During operation keep the pole pruner with the insulated handles, because the chain may come into contact with ener-
gized cable, including its own power cable for mains-powered tools. Chain, which is connecting with the live wire under may
cause, that the metal parts of the pole pruner also will be energized, what can cause electric shock to the operator.
Hold the pole pruner at suffi cient distance from electric power lines. Contact with the electric power line can cause electric
shock, serious injuries or death.
Use personal protective equipment in the form of head, eyes and hearing protection. You must also apply safety shoes
and protective gloves. The use of appropriate personal protective equipment reduces the risk of injuries, that may arise during
the work.
Causes and prevention of the phenomenon of robound towards the operator.
Rebound in the direction of operator may occur when the end of the guide comes into contact with the object or when a cut wood
piece jams the pole pruner in a cut kerf. In some cases, touching of the guide end with an object can cause dangerous reaction
which will topple the guide in the direction of operator. Deadlocking in a cut kerf of the upper edge of guide can rapidly direct the
guide in the direction of operator.
Each of these reactions may cause you to lose control over the pole pruner and also cause a serious injury. You should not rely
solely on the security elements built into the pole pruner. Operator of the pole pruner should take a few steps in order to prevent
accidents and injuries at work.
Rebound in the direction of operator is the result of misuse or incorrect procedures, or the terms of service and it can avoided by
taking appropriate precautions, which are presented below:
Keep the grip of both hands with thumbs and fi ngers closing around the handles of pole pruner, the position of the body
and shoulders should allow to oppose the forces, which are arising during rebound. If appropriate precautions are taken,
then the rebound forces can be controlled by the operator. Do not allow for a free movement of the pole pruner.
You should use a replacements of guide and chain only as it is specifi ed by the manufacturer. An incorrect replacement of
guide and chain may cause breaking of the chain and/or an rebound phenomenon.
