SAFETY GUlDELlNES
Congratulations for having acquired the Sterilux water disinfection system Basic.Series.
The acquired system integrates down intensity germicide and latest generation low pressure mercury lamps. Read and follow
all the steps and guidelines carefully before installing and using the unit.
Ultraviolet light based water disinfection units are not potable water creation plants on their own.
For the correct functioning of the unit, a previous filtration phase must be installed of at least 1 micron (to guarantee that
98% of the ultraviolet light can be transmitted through the water to be treated).
If any doubts arise referring to the installation, use or maintenance of the unit contact your Technical Service Centre.
Sterilux Basic Series units must not be used in pressurised systems of more than 6 bar.
The Basic Series units are not suitable for treating sea water or for installation in salty environments. The hydraulic
system and the unit must be disinfected periodically and before first use.
The ultraviolet light emitted from the unit can harm skin and eyes.
In case of exposure to the lamp in operation, never look at it directly nor expose yourself to its radiation and always use the
glasses and adequate protections. (UV-C Filter).
Unit maintenance and lamp substitutions must always be done with the unit disconnected from the electrical socket.
Ensure the electrical outlet has the adequate protection elements and is suitable for the unit's power requirements.
This symbol means the unit must not be disposed of along with normal
domestic garbage. In this way, you will help prevent negative
consequences to the environment and human health. European legislation
stipulates that the agreed procedures must be followed when disposing
of electrical and electronic equipment. Homes within European Union
member states can dispose of electrical and electronic equipment at
dedicated collection centres free of charge. Contact the organisation
responsible for the elimination of residues for more information.
