Steps for Using Timed Photocontrol
When using the Intermatic ETCB28253PCR for outdoor lighting applications, sometimes it is necessary for the lights to be able to be
activated outside of normal astronomic times, which is why we have included the 2
customer to still have the benefit of having the lights being activated in inclement weather, or simply when it is dark, but still allows
for the lights to be turned OFF at a specific time, whether it be for personal preference or a city ordinance, which is something that
you can't do with a photocontrol, or a timer all by itself.
Once the unit is installed, follow these steps:
1.
Install the CONTROL INPUT and PHOTOCONTROL and wire as shown in the diagram above.
2.
Install the LOAD INPUTS and LOAD OUTPUTS and wire as shown in the diagram above.
3.
Power the unit up (120 VAC).
4.
Set control for "IND" (Independent).
5.
Set the correct Date, Time, and Location for the device.
6.
Program Circuit 1 for times in which the LOAD(S) needs to be in the ON state.
7.
Program Circuit 2 for any time in which the LOAD(S) may be overridden by the PHOTOCONTROL
Example: Office building is used from 6AM to 6PM Monday – Friday with occasional usage during weekends. They would like
for the parking lot lights to be ON from Sunset to 11:00PM every day, but also want the lights to come ON during inclement
weather during hours of use.
1.
Follow steps 1-5 from above.
2.
Program Circuit 1 to turn ON at Sunset
3.
Program Circuit 2 to turn ON at 6:00 AM
4.
Program Circuit 1 and 2 to turn OFF at 11:00 PM
Now, anytime between 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM and dark enough outside the LOAD(S) will be activated and in the ON state but
will be OFF from 11:00 PM until at least 6:00 AM the following morning.
