@ Dolby noise reduction
The Dolby NR circuitry reduces the hiss noise that is inherent
in tape recording. The Dolby B-Type
NR
is designed
to
reduce noise and increase dynamic
range in the upper fre-
quency
range. The effect of the Dolby C-Type
NR takes
effect at lower frequencies and dynamic range improvement
is greater. Dolby C-Type NR will give best results for record-
ing program material which has
—
marked level differences (wide dynamic range)
— fow signal level in the mid and upper frequencies
— a large amount of mid and upper frequency energy.
