@ Auto monitor function
This unit incorporates an auto monitor function which auto-
matically switches the output signal depending on the opera-
tion mode. When the © button is pressed, the "Source"

Press the © button. While the button is depressed, the sig-
nal is muted and a blank portion is recorded on the tape.
@ Dolby noise reduction
The Dolby NR circuitry reduces the hiss noise that is inherent
in tape recording. The Dolby B-Type NR is designed
to
reduce noise and increase dynamic
range in the upper fre-
quency
range. The effect of the Dolby C-Type
NR takes
effect at lower frequencies and dynamic range improvement
is greater. Dolby C-Type NR will give best results for record-
ing program material which has
— marked level differences (wide dynamic range)
— fow signal level in the mid and upper frequencies
— a large amount of mid and upper frequency energy.
