7 Filling
The product is shipped unfilled for safety reasons. When using for the first time, you must first
fill the tank before using the product.
Caution!
Only use commercial lighter gas (isobutane gas) to fill the tank. Suitable refill car-
tridges for this purpose are available for purchase (e.g. in 250 ml cans). If in doubt,
consult a specialist.
Never fill the product with other gases/fluids. Never use unsuitable cartridges or
hose connections when filling! There is a great risk of fire or explosion!
Fill the gas tank only in a well ventilated environment and avoid naked flames. There
is a risk of explosion!
Only fill the product after it has cooled down completely.
To fill, proceed as follows:
First, remove the base (8). Turn the hot-gas burner so the filling valve (7) points vertically

upwards.
Hold the filling tip of the lighter gas cartridge vertically downwards and stick it into the filling

valve. If necessary, use a suitable adapter (usually supplied with the lighter gas cartridge).
Then press the filling tip of the lighter gas cartridge against the filling valve. The liquefied

gas now flows into the gas tank. End the filling procedure after 2 to 3 seconds. This filling
process can be repeated 2 or 3 times.
Stop the filling process immediately if any gas escapes. A gas-air mixture could
arise which could explode. Make sure that the room has been well ventilated before
you ignite the product or other sources of ignition.
Wait at least 3 minutes after filling before using the product to allow the gas refill
to stabilise.
8 Operation
8.1 Preparation
Hold the product so the flame nozzle (1) points away from you. Also hold it so that the

grip (6) points downward.
Slide the gas volume regulator (3) to the right.

Turn the push button (5) to the right. This unlocks the push button.

8.2 Igniting the flame
Press the push button (5) and hold it down firmly. Escaping gas is now ignited by the inte-

grated piezo ignition. The flame should begin burning.
If only gas comes out and no flame, let go of the push button and press it again.

8.3 Flame size and flame type setting
You can adjust how much gas comes out and how large the flame is by using the gas

volume regulator (3).
Slide the regulator to the right (+) to increase the gas volume. The flame will be bigger.

Slide the regulator to the left (–) to reduce the gas volume. The flame will be smaller.

Use the air volume regulator (2) to adjust how much oxygen is added to the gas before

combustion.
8.4 Turning off flame, ending operation
Release the push button (5). The gas valve closes and the flame goes out.

Turn the push button to the left. This will lock the push button.

Place the product in the supplied base (8) and let it cool down completely.

Once the product is completely cooled off, it can be stored in a clean, dry location. Make

sure that the product is always stored upright. Use the provided base for this purpose.
8.5 Continued use
Use the locking lever (4) to activate continuous operation. Even if the push button (5) is re-
leased, the flame will still burn.
Proceed as follows:
Press and hold the push button and firmly.

Slide the locking lever to the left.

Release the push button. The flame continues to burn.

To extinguish the flame, slide the locking lever to the right.

9 Troubleshooting
Flame does not burn or goes out again immediately:
Slide the gas volume regulator (3) to the right before pressing the push button (5). Only

after a successful ignition should you adjust the desired flame intensity.
If the regulator is turned too far to the left, too little gas comes out and a flammable mixture

will not form.
The gas tank is empty and must be refilled.

The push button for the ignition function cannot be pressed:
Turn the push button (5) to the right. This unlocks the push button.

Gas comes out during filling:
Use the right adapter during filling. Normally, this is provided with every lighter gas car-

tridge.
