4. Detailed overview and speci cations of the di erent components
Compressor
Its purpose is that of removing the refrigerant through the suction pipe, compressing it and sending it to the
condenser at high pressure and temperature.
Maintenance: because it is a source of heat, and thus subject to being sought by insects and crawlers, it must be
EN
periodically vacuumed and cleaned. Avoid exposure to dust and especially to moisture.
Electrical components of the Compressor: These are components that enable its correct operation.
- PTC Relay: This electrothermal component consists of a ceramic disc, which
has the property of increased electrical resistance when crossed by the electrical
start-up current. Upon engine start-up the disc is cold and allows the electric current
to pass to the start windings. Over time, this current will increase the temperature of
the disc and its resistance, deactivating the start windings.
Maintenance: prevent exposure to dust and especially to moisture.
- Thermal Protector: This component is connected in series to the electrical
circuit and placed in a position next to the compressor housing. It prevents electrical
overloads or high temperatures from damaging the compressor.
Maintenance: prevent exposure to dust and especially to moisture.
Condenser
Its purpose is that of releasing the heat absorbed by the evaporator and in the compression process into the
surrounding environment. The gas that comes out of the compressor at high temperature and high pressure must
be condensed and turned into liquid. To this end, there must be no dust deposited in the condenser, as it will form
an insulating layer.
Maintenance: The condenser should be cleaned periodically with a brush in order to remove dust, which prevents
good thermal exchange.
Filter
This component consists of a lter element and desiccant particles. Its purpose is that
of removing foreign particles from the circuit, as well as any accumulated moisture. To
ful l this function perfectly, its mounting position should always be the one shown in
the picture.
Note: whenever carrying out any intervention in which the thermodynamic circuit has
to be opened, the lter must be replaced. To do this, always observe the manufactur-
er's instructions for the type of lter to use.
Maintenance: Does not require maintenance
