4. Activate the compressor by turning the on/off switch to the I position (ON).
5. Insert the oil bottle into the suction spout or the opening in the motor hood (depen-
ding on the model involved).
The motor now suctions in the oil.
6. Deactivate the motor when approx. 2/3 of the bottle's contents have been emptied.
7. Check the oil level in the inspection glass.
8. Repeat the procedure if the correct oil level has not been achieved.
Warning: The oil level should not exceed the maximum indicated. Excess oil should be drai-
ned where the oil level is exceeded (see "Draining oil").
Use only compressor oil to fill the unit, as a failure to do so will render the guaran-
tee null and void.
Note: Retain the remaining oil for future filling operations.
9. On completion of oil filling, attach the air filter supplied to the suction fitting or the
motor hood opening (depending on the model used. See Illustration 1 ("Filling oil/Air
filter attachment") in this respect.
The compressor is now ready for operation and should remain in a horizontal position. Oil can pene-
trate the compression chambers and damage these if the unit is tilted.
Draining oil
Oil should be drained if you wish to transport the unit or have inadvertently filled it with too much oil.
Warning: Oil must be drained prior to transportation or shipment, as oil can otherwise leak
out or penetrate the compression chambers and may damage the unit.
1. Unscrew the oil inspection glass.
2. Collect the oil flowing out in a suitable container.
3. Screw the oil inspection glass into position again and check to ensure that it is fit-
ted securely.
Commissioning
Warning: The unit should be inspected prior to commissioning to ascertain whether it is filled
with oil.
1. Check to ascertain whether the compressor is filled with oil.
Warning: In the event of the compressor containing no oil or inadequate oil, proceed as des-
cribed in in "Filling oil".
2. Turn the on/off switch to the I position ("ON").
