A) SPIDER AND INSECT WARNING:
Spiders and insects can nest in burners during storage. This hazard has been known to
cause grill fires. Clean the main burners periodically, as well as before storing the grill.
B) BURNER INSPECTION:
Inspect burners each time you use your grill, or immediately if one of the following occurs:
1. Orange flames with burnt insect odor.
2. Temperature too low or heats unevenly.
3. The burners make popping noises.

Trouble Shooting:
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Improper Airflow
(Trapped Hot Air from Wind)
Use an old tooth brush, some alcohol, and emery paper
to clean electrode tip and insulator.
Replace gas valve assembly complete with wire.
Reconnect electrode wire at gas valve.
Clean torch tube, and/or unplug orifice with fine wire.
Check Nat Gas pressure. Check propane tank empty?
Propane Safety Valve tripped (see PP 9).
Check and clean burners and main valve orifices.
Check Nat Gas pressure. Check propane tank empty?
Propane Safety Valve tripped (see PP 9).
Re-set burner air shutters until flame characteristics are
similar to pg. 15.
Re-install burner(s) correctly so that the orifice is
centered in the burner's inlet.
Replace gas valves as needed.
Replace NG Regulator OR Propane Hose & Regulator
Check NG gas pressure, check propane tank empty?
Smooth out the hose and check for damage
Preheat the grill for 15 minutes, minimum
Remove knob and lube with penetrating oil; work valve
back and forth to loosen; lube regularly.
Re-set burner air shutters so flame characteristics
are similar to pg. 13.
Trim fat off meat before grilling (NOTE: check and empty
grease tray regularly)
Regularly clean Firebox, Grease Pan, and Grease Cup
NOTE; check grease cup prior to each use of grill.
Call a professional gas fitter or Propane dealer
Re-set burner air shutters until flame characteristics
are similar to pg. 13.
Reposition grill or create wind barrier. See Fig. 9.
Reposition grill.
If the grill burners are on high and the
hood is closed, wind can prevent the
hot air from being expelled through
the rear vents - forcing heat to the
front control panel. This heat can
make the handle and knobs extremely
hot! Sometimes leading to damage of
important components.
