Setting Up and Connecting the Device
PLEASE NOTE
Only connect the device to a plug socket that is properly installed and matches the
technical data of the device. The plug socket must also be readily accessible after
connection so that the connection to the mains can quickly be isolated.
Make sure that the mains cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and
does not come into contact with hot surfaces (this also applies to the hot surfaces of
the device!).
The device may only be operated in an upright position, never on its side, tilted or
upside down.
The surfaces of furniture may possibly contain elements which can attack and soften
the adjustable feet of the device. If necessary, place a suitable pad below the adjust-
able feet.
1. Unwind the mains cable from the cable winder (7) to the length you require.
2. Place the device on a dry, heat-resistant, fl at surface a suffi cient distance away from
fl ammable objects.
3. Plug the mains plug into a properly installed plug socket. The STOPP (stop) button (4)
lights up red.
Toasting
The extent of browning depends greatly on the type, the freshness and the composition
of the bread which is used. An increased protein, sugar or calcium content, for example,
leads to stronger browning, whereas fats and preservatives reduce it.
Initially, depending on your own personal taste and the bread, you should start with a low
toasting setting and increase it in stages until you get an optimum level of browning that
you are happy with.
PLEASE NOTE
Before using the device, make sure the crumb tray is inserted all the way in.
Do not leave the device unattended during operation.
Make sure that the toaster can switch off after the toasting process. Problems may
arise from objects blocking the lowering lever, or from baked items which are too
large in the toasting slots.
1. Insert a slice of bread into each of the toasting slots (1). Do not use slices which are
too thick, because they could get stuck in the toasting slots.
2. Use the rotary knob (3) to set the desired toasting level between level 1 (light toasting; very
light degree of browning) and level 6 (strong toasting; very strong degree of browning).
PLEASE NOTE: If the device is used several times in succession, the slices
which are put into the device later on will be darker than the fi rst slices when the
same toasting setting is used.
