INSTALLATION
1.
Be sure that the hood is clean and dry inside and out. Open the hood of the vehicle and remove the grille from the hood by removing the six
(6) flange nuts using the 10mm socket; the hood latch safety release does not need to be detached.
2.
Start peeling the backing from the roll of gasket material and attach it to the edge of the hood that was covered by the grille, as shown below
in Figure #1. Trim the gasket at the both ends with the scissors if necessary.
3.
Center the deflector onto the hood with the 'E' clips (already attached to the deflector) resting on top of the hood.
4.
Under each of the 'E' clips fold an anti-abrasion film pad in half over the leading edge of the hood to cover at least ½" underneath.
5.
Attach the 'E' clips to the hood by gently pulling the deflector wings toward the leading edge of the hood until they slide over and clip onto
the hood edge. It may be necessary to tap on the clips to make sure that they are fully seated against the hood. Be sure that the deflector is
still centered on the hood.
6.
Push a rubber-bonded washer tightly down onto each grille bolt (rubber side toward the hood) then re-install the grille into the hood. Before
fully tightening the nuts make sure that the deflector is centered on the hood and well inserted in between the grille and the hood. Do not
over-tighten the grille retaining nuts. See Figure #2.
7.
Position the five (5) bumpons on the hood as shown in Figure #3. Attention: The bumpons must be installed on the hood and fenders,
not the deflector!!!! If the bumpons are installed on the deflector, they will wear through the paint.
8.
On some vehicles it may be necessary to adjust the hood bumpers and/or latch for proper clearance.
Note: Do not pull on the deflector when opening or closing the hood.
