The SUPERLINE-ST Infusion Set Instruction
1. Prior to Inserting the SUPERLINE-ST Infusion Set
1) Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the SUPERLINE-ST.
2) Take out the infusion set from its package. Keep the Reservoir Connector sterile from disinfectant,
perfume, deodorant, or repellent.
3) Screw the Reservoir Connector counterclockwise into the Reservoir Cap of the DANA insulin pump until
it is firmly in place.
2. Inserting the SUPERLINE-ST Infusion Set
1) Choose an insertion site on your abdomen at least 5 cm away from the navel. Clean the site with an
alcohol swab and let it dry.
2) Prime the infusion set by following the DANA Insulin pump User Manual.
3) Remove the plaster backing paper and the needle protector by gently pulling it. Check the needle and
replace if damaged (fig. 3)
4) Take a big pinch of skin between your thumb and index finger and hold it. Insert the needle firmly into the
pinched skin at a 90 (fig. 4)
5) Secure the needle with the plaster (fig. 5)
6) Tape the tube to the body with adhesive tape 2~5 cm away from the insertion site (fig. 6)
Notice
· Try to avoid any recent insertion sites, scars, scar tissue or bruising.
· Remember to prime at least 10 units when you replace the reservoir and infusion set to remove for safe insulin delivery.
· When priming the infusion set, hold the set with the needle pointing down to ensure that medication does not come in
contact with the adhesive backing paper.
3. Removing the SUPERLINE-ST Infusion Set
1) Place the pump in SUSPEND
2) Carefully remove the adhesive tape from the insertion site and tube.
3) Remove the Needle in the same manner as if you were inserting it. Use gauze to apply light pressure to
the infusion site.
4) Remove the infusion set from the pump by turning the Reservoir Connector clockwise and pulling
upwards. Dispose of the used infusion set properly.
