8.1
Unit maintenance
The unit must be checked for contamination and dirt (visual inspection) as needed or at least every

Danger to life due to electric shock
An electric shock can result in death or serious injuries.
> Before opening the unit, the unit must be fully isolated from the power supply.
> The unit may only be opened by an authorised electrician.

Risk of burns due to hot surfaces!
Hot surfaces can cause serious burns.
> Allow unit to cool down for at least 5 minutes or wait until the fans are turned off.
m
Risk of injury due to rotating fans!
Rotating fans can injure limbs and cause serious injuries.
> Before working on the unit, wait until the fans are turned off.
m
Risk of injury due to the panel or unit door falling down!
The panel or unit door can fall down when removing and cause serious injuries.
> Wear protective footwear.
> Carefully remove the panel or unit door with both hands.
1. Unhook the panel (magnetic) upwards.
2. Loosen and remove the screws in the unit door.

Risk of injury due to the high weight of the heat exchanger!
The heat exchanger can fall down and cause serious injuries when removed from the unit.
> Wear protective footwear.
> Carefully remove the heat exchanger from the unit with both hands.
3. Remove heat exchanger.
Damage to the unit due to the use of aggressive cleaning agents.
Aggressive cleaning agents can damage the unit.
> Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
4. Remove dirt with a damp cloth and a small amount of washing-up liquid.
8.2
Filter maintenance and replacement
8.2.1 Filter maintenance
The filters must be checked as needed or at least every 6 months for contamination and dirt (visual inspection) and, if
necessary, replaced, see chapter 8.2.2 „Filter replacement", page 27.
The maximum service life of the filters is 1 year. The filters must then be replaced.
8.2.2 Filter replacement
The need to change the filters is displayed:
– via the easyControls 3.0 software by the symbol
– via the control element KWL-BE Touch by the symbol
– via the control element KWL-BE Eco by the flashing LED.
The arrangement of the air filters can be found on the unit label. When installing the filter, the air direction according to
the unit label must be observed, which is indicated by arrows on the filters.
Proceed as follows to replace the filters:
– Intake air filter
1. Unhook panel (magnetic) upwards and remove filter co-
ver (foam part).
2. Pull intake air filter

– Extract air filter
Depending on the intake air connection, the extract air filter
is located on the right (intake air connection from right) or
left side (intake air connection from left) of the unit.
3. Carefully remove the filter panel (plastic part).
4. Pull extract air filter
to the front and replace (see ).

5. Confirm the filter replacement:
– enter the filter replacement date and confirm via the
easyControls 3.0 software in the menu "Home-
page"> "Filter replacement".

– confirm with
via the control element KWL-BE Touch.
– the filter replacement cannot be confirmed via the control element KWL-BE Eco.
The unit is equipped with filters ISO Coarse 65 % on the intake air and extract air sides as standard.
The filters are available as accessories:
Replacement air filter Coarse filter Coarse 65 % (2 pcs.)
Replacement air filter Fine filter ePM 1 50 % (1 pc.)
Replacement air filter Activ. carbon ePM 2.5 60 % (1 pc.)
