FILTREAU MAIN 50XL
OPERATION
The Filtreau Main 50XL is a low-maintenance filtration system that ensures healthy, clear water with low mainte-
nance without the need for daily maintenance by the user.
The completely automatically controlled drum filter, combined with the Moving-bed/bio chamber makes the
filter suitable for (koi) ponds up to a whopping 80,000L!
The system comes standard with 4x inlet (110mm) and 3x outlet (110mm).
This allows a water flow of as much as 50m3/h to be achieved!
CAUTION: Before using/installing the system, read the entire manual carefully!
If in doubt, always consult a recognised installer.
SAFETY AND INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
• See Technical specifications for the required mains voltage and current type.
• The appliance may only be connected to an electrical installation that complies with legal standards. An earth
leakage switch (30mA) and socket with protective earth are required. If in doubt, always consult a recognised
installer.
• Both the filter, control box and condenser (of the flush pump) should be placed in a dry, sheltered place.
Not in direct sunlight.
• Always keep the plug free of moisture. Prevent water from entering the socket through the power cord.
(See illustration 3 for looping of the power cord).
• The device is suitable for freshwater.
• The device is suitable for water temperatures of 4 - 40 degrees Celsius. If temperatures outside these limits
occur, the device should be completely disconnected from the water circuit.
• Before commissioning, check the entire appliance, power cord and plug for damage. If damaged, the appli-
ance must not be used. Have the damage assessed by the dealer.
• The appliance should only be switched on when there is sufficient water flow.
• When opening the lid/maintenance, the power supply to the device/control box should be switched off at all
times.
INSTALLATION FILTREAU MAIN 50XL; SEE ILLUSTRATIONS 1 TO 5
1. Determine the exact location of the filter and place it on a stable, level subfloor.
2. Place the pond pump in front of the filter if it is pump-powered, place the pond pump after the filter if it is
gravity. Keep in mind that the maximum water level of the pond is never higher than the max. water level in
the filter. Max. water level = flush with the dirt drain/gutter.
3. Connect the outlets(D) of the filter to the return line of your pond.
4. Gravity set up; Fill pond until maximum water level is reached. Max. water level = 1cm below the dirt outlet/
gutter.
5. Replace the cover(A) on the housing.
6. Now insert the plugs of the devices into the appropriate sockets on the control box (F) see indications on
control box itself.
7. Connect the cable of the float to the cable of the control box(F). (DMX connection)
8. Now insert the plug (G) of the control box (F) into the appropriate socket and switch it on by flipping the
switch (H).
9. Wait until the pond pump has filled the entire filter. (ensure that all valves in the water circuit are open).
10. Now check all pipelines, hoses, connections, etc. for leaks.
11. Press and hold the push button (I) for 10 seconds to activate the motor and flush pump.
