the flashing red led (L1), press push-button P1 shortly. This function
is available only when jumper JP1 (provided for on the card) is dis-
connected.
Push-button P1 and therefore its corresponding functions can be
repeated by using an external push-button connected to terminals 4
and 5 (see application diagram).
Operation in alarm condition
Upon switching on the detector for the first time or when the device is
switched on after a long period (more than 2 weeks) without power, the
sensor takes 7 to 10 days to acquire its steady physical-chemical cha-
racteristics and thus a constant level of sensitivity. It is therefore strongly
recommended to make sure that this "period of conditioning" has pas-
sed before carrying out any checks on the activation level.
On connecting the detector, the green led will flash for 2 minutes approx.
(known as "reactivation period"): during this time the detector cannot
test the quantity of gas present in the environment.
When the concentration of gas in the air exceeds the threshold, the
detector starts working by switching on the red led. After 5 seconds from
the led red switch-on, the built-in intermittent sound alarm starts.
If, during this time, the concentration of gas falls below the detection
threshold, the gas detector alarm switches off and the delay is comple-
tely reset. The sound alarm remains on for all the duration of the alarm.
Afterwards, after 20 seconds from the activation of the sound alarm, the
alarm relay is activated too.
The alarm relay contacts can also control solenoid valves (NO or NC) or
visual-sound alarms.
Alarm memory
The card is provided with a JP1 jumper to connect or disconnect the
alarm memory.
• Jumper connected: alarm memory disabled
• Jumper disconnected: alarm memory enabled. The detector stores the
alarm status of the detector and signals it to the user (flashing red led).
The signal is active as soon as the alarm stops and can be cancelled
by pressing push-button P1.
