DE Starthilfe-Tipps
• Beide Batterien müssen dieselbe Spannung haben.
• Die Kapazität der stromgebenden Batterie sollte nicht
wesentlich unter der der entladenen liegen.
• Darauf achten, daß zwischen den Fahrzeugen kein
Karosseriekontakt besteht (Kurzschlußgefahr).
• Zündquellen (z.B. offenes Licht, brennende Zigarette
etc.) von den Batterien fernhalten (Verpuffungsgefahr)
und wegen Verätzungsgefahr nicht über die Batterien
beugen.
• Die entladene Batterie nicht vom zugehörigen
Bordnetz trennen. Die Zündungen der Fahrzeuge sind
vor dem
Anklemmen des Starthilfe-Kabels auszuschalten.
Feststell-Bremshebel müssen angezogen werden.
Bei Schaltgetrieben, Schalthebel in Leerlauf-Stellung
und bei Automatikgetrieben Wählhebel in Stellung „P"
stellen.
Anklemmen
Die Leitungen des Starthilfe-Kabels sind so zu legen,
dass diese nicht von drehenden Teilen im Motorraum er-
faßt werden können. Leitung mit roten Polzangen zuerst
am Pluspol der entladenen Batterie (1) und dann am
Pluspol der Spenderbatterie (2) anklemmen. Anschlie-
ßend Leitung mit den schwarzen Polzangen am Minus-
pol der Spenderbatterie (3) und danach an die Fahr-
zeugmasse (4) (z.B. Masseband oder einer anderen
blanken Stelle am Motorblock) – soweit wie möglich von
der Batterie entfernt – anklemmen, um das Zünden von
möglicherweise entwickeltem Knallgas zu verhindern.
Starten
Den Motor des Spenderfahrzeuges starten und auf eine
mittlere Drehzahl bringen. Nach dem Startvorgang, der
nicht länger als 15 Sekunden dauern soll, ist eine War-
tezeit von mindestens 1 Minute einzulegen. Nach er-
folgreichem Starten des Motors des liegengebliebenen
Fahrzeugs 2 bis 3 Minuten warten, bis dieser rundläuft.
Abklemmen
Beim Entfernen der Leitungen des Starthilfe-Kabels ist
darauf zu achten, dass diese nicht in Kontakt mit sich
drehenden Teilen der Motoren kommen. Zuerst schwar-
ze Polzange vom Masseband oder Motorblock des
liegengebliebenen Fahrzeuges abnehmen. Dann die
andere schwarze Polzange vom Minuspol der Spender-
batterie und anschließend die beiden roten Polzangen
in beliebiger Reihenfolge abnehmen.

GB Booster cable tips
• Both Batteries must have the same voltage
• The capacity of the assisting battery should not be much
lower than that of the one to be charged.
• Make sure that the two vehicles are not touching (danger
of short circuit)
• Keep naked flames away from the batteries (danger of
explosion) and do not lean over the batteries (danger of
burns caused by acid).
• Do not disconnect the battery to be charged from the
electric circuit of the vehicle it belongs to. Switch off the
ignition on both vehicles before connecting the booster
cable. Put vehicles with convetional gearboxes in neutral
and vehicles with automatic transmissions in the
P position. Apply the hand brakes.
Connecting the booster Cable
The leads of the booster cable must so positioned that they
cannot be caught in moving parts in the engine compart-
ment. First connect the lead with the red clamps to the po-
sitive terminal (+) of the battery to be charged and then ti
the positive terminal of the assisting battery.
Finally connect the lead with the black clamps to the ne-
gative terminal (-) of the assisting battery and then to the
metal frame or engine block - as far away from the battery
as possible to prevent the ignition of any oxyhydrogen gas
which may have built up.
Starting the engines
Start the engine of the assisting vehicle and bring up to
a medium speed. After the start procedure which should
not last longer than 15 seconds, wait for at least 1 minute.
After the engine of the stalled vehicle hast been started
successfully, wait 2 to 3 minutes until it is running smoothly.
Disconnecting the booster cable
Whend the leads of the booster cable are removed, care
should be taken that they do not come into contact with
any moving parts of the engines. First remove the black
clamp from the metal frame or engine block of the vehicle
that hast broken down. Then remove the other black clamp
from the negative terminal of the assisting battery an finally
both red clamps in any order.
