Example: You have mounted the radio opening detector on a door (time is set to 5
minutes) and then programmed a radio-controlled socket.
After the door is opened, the radio-controlled socket and a load connected to it is
switched on for 5 minutes.
If the door remains open, the load will still be switched off after the set time of 5
minutes. So there will be no unnecessary energy consumption when the door is
accidentally left open.
A new switching process takes place only when the door closes and then reo-
pens.
• Switch on the radio-opening detector (shift sliding switch from position "O" to "I") .
• Before you close the battery compartment, one (or more) radio receiver(s) in the RSL system
of the radio-opening detector must be programmed. Observe the following steps.
Operation
a) Programming a radio receiver to the radio opening-detector
A maximum of 10 radio receivers in the RSL radio system can be programmed to the radio
opening detector.
• Shift the radio receiver (e.g. a wireless incoporated switch, a radio-controlled socket or the
like) to programming mode. Please refer to the operating manual of the radio receiver (usu-
ally press the button on the wireless receiver for more than 3 seconds, until the LED begins
to fl ash on the radio receiver).
• Press the button in the battery compartment of the radio-opening detector (at least 3 sec-
onds), until the light stops fl ashing on the radio receiver and remains lit instead. The load
connected to the radio receiver is switched on.
b) Deleting programmed receivers from the radio opening switch
• Shift the radio receiver (e.g. a wireless incorporated switch, a radio-controlled socket, etc.) to
the programming mode. Please refer to the operating manual of the radio receiver (usually
press the button on the wireless receiver for more than 3 seconds, until the LED begins to
fl ash on the radio receiver).
• Press the button in the battery compartment of the radio opening-detector (for at least 3
seconds), until the light stops fl ashing on the radio receiver and goes out instead. The load
connected to the radio-receiver is switched off.
Function test
• If it has not been done, you must fi rst programme a radio receiver (e.g. a wireless incorpo-
rated switch or a radio-controlled socket) in the RSL system of the radio opening-detector.
• Make sure that the radio receiver is ready-to-operate.
• Open the door or window on which the radio opening-detector is mounted. There must be a
minimum distance of 20 mm between the radio opening-detector and the magnet (note arrow
positions), so that the radio-opening detector can detect this as an "open door / window".
• The radio receiver that is programmed to the radio opening detector must now be activated
for the set time (time setting on the switch in the battery compartment of the radio-opening
detector).
The load is switched off after the interval, even if the door or window is still open.
This is to save power.
A new switching process takes place only when the door or window is closed and
then opened.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Apart from the the occasional battery change the product is maintenance-free for you. Repair
or maintenance work must be carried out by a specialist.
Clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions since these might damage the
surface of the casing or impair the operation.

Disposal
a) In general
b) Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/
rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
You thus fulfi l the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
Information about the range
The radio opening-detector has a range of up to 30 m.
The range can sometimes be limited considerably by:
• walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• Coated / metal vapour deposition coated insulating glass
• Proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g. radiators)
• Proximity to human bodies
• Broadband interferences, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobile phones, radio-
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
• The proximity to improperly shielded or uncovered operating computers or other electric ap-
Declaration of Conformity (DOC)
We, Conrad Electronic, Klaus-Conrad-Straße 1, D-92240 Hirschau, hereby declare that this
product conforms to the fundamental requirements and the other relevant regulations of the
directive 1999/5/EC.
Technical Data
Power supply ................................1 x battery of type CR2032
Transmission frequency................433 MHz
Transmission range ......................max. 30 m (see chapter "Range")
Adjustable timer time ....................6 seconds, 15 seconds, 1 minute und 5 minutes
Ambient temperature ....................0 to +35 °C
Dimensions (LxWxH) .................... Radio opening-detector 82 x 35 x 16 mm
Dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory regula-
tions!
Remove the inserted battery and dispose it of separately from the product.
Contaminated batteries / rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols
to indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The symbols for the
relevant heavy metals are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
You can dispose of your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at your
community's collection point or any place where batteries/rechargeable batteries are
sold!
However, this range is the so-called "free-fi eld range" (range with line of sight be-
tween the transmitter and receiver and without interference).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, the ceilings of rooms etc. between
the transmitter and the receiver which reduce the range correspondingly.
Due to the different infl uences on the radio transmission, no specifi c range can
be guaranteed. However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a detached
house.
