1. Information on using the system
The Märklin 49940 video system consists of an H0
passenger car with a built-in camera and a sender,
a receiver with a power pack for plugging into
household current and a Euro connecting cable.
This system is specially designed for the require-
ments of he moveable sender.
Please read these instructions carefully before
hooking the complete system up and operating
them.
Please note the following general points:
This system is only suitable for operation in
dry rooms.
The location of the receiver should be such
that there is a clear line of sight between the
sender and the receiver. (minimum height
1 meter / 39", recommended height 1.5 to
2 meters (59" to 78" ). Parts of the layout bet-
ween the sender and the receiver will dampen
the sender signal and reduce the effective
range between the sender and the receiver.
Metallic, conductive materials above all
dampen the signal rather severely.

(Tip: Aluminum screen wire is a favorite support
material for scenery building. This works like a
faraday cage and dampens the sender signal
for senders located beneath it).
The video signal has a wavelength of about
13 cm / 5-1/8" . This means that walls and
non-metallic surfaces with a specific absorp-
tion and reflection level can be penetrated.
This H0 car can be powered only with
Märklin Digital or Märklin DELTA (only with
the 6607 DELTA Station electronic circuit).
Problems or damage resulting from the use of
AC or DC power as a voltage source are not
covered by the warranty! Also, even temporary
use of this car over areas of track with unsuit-
able sources of voltage is not permissible.
The video receiver and the sender are set for
the same transmission frequency. It is not
possible to change this.
