Locomotives with a DELTA electronic circuit
(item no. 34...) can be used with conventional trans-
formers, with a DELTA controller or in the Märklin
Digital system (Motorola format). The desired mode
of operation and an address for multi-train operation
can be changed with the coding switches in the
tender for the locomotive.
Locomotives with a digital decoder and controlled
high-efficiency propulsion (item no. 37...) can be
used in all modes of operation; the decoder auto-
matically switches from one mode to another. The
desired maximum speed and acceleration/braking
delay and the address for multi-train operation can
be set on the decoder in the tender for the loco-
motive.
The headlights are on constantly in conventional
and DELTA operation. The headlights on the digital
version of the locomotive as well as the power sup-
plied from the tender coupler to the lighting in cars
coupled to the locomotive can also be turned on
and off in digital operation.

This locomotive is not designed for operation with
other makes of locomotive controllers (direct current,
pulse width control, multi-train controllers of other
makes).
The service work required with normal operation is
described below. Always handle this quality model
with appropriate care. The high-efficiency motor
is maintenance-free.
