Note: the template must have a minimum thickness of 6mm, due to the projecting
height of the guide bushing.

Chip shield (Fig.8)

Always wear eye protection. The chip shield is not intended as a safety
guard.
The chip shield on the plunge base is held in position by a screw.
WARNING
To remove the chip shield from the plunge base, simply push the shield to right and
take the chip shield off of the base.

The chip shield helps to keep dust and chips away from the operator; it
will not stop objects larger than woodchips that are thrown from the
bit.

CAUTION: Always have the chip shield in
place on the base when operating the
router.
1. Start the tool by squeezing the
trigger switch.
2. Release the trigger to stop the tool.
3. If you press the lock on button while
the trigger switch is depressed,
the switch is kept in the operating
position. This is convenient when
continuous operating for extended
periods of time is required.
4. To release the lock on button, press
and release the trigger switch.
