2. Installation instructions

2.1 Instructions and
regulations
The installation (water and electrical work)
and commissioning, as well as the maintenance
of this equipment, must only be carried out
by an authorised qualified contractor in
accordance with these instructions.
z DIN VDE 0100/DIN 1988/DIN 4109
z Regulations of your local electricity supply
company
z Regulations of your local water supply
company

2.2 Place of installation

Install the equipment vertically in a room
which is free from frost. Locate the equipment
near to the draw-off points for maximum
convenience and to optimise heat losses.
Space requirements below the cylinder
For service, allow sufficient space below
the cylinder for the installation of the safety
assembly
as well as for the removal of

2.3 Equipment installation

z Select fixing materials in accordance with
the wall construction/condition
z Fit both (!) support braces
accordance with the detailed drawing
z Hook the equipment into the brace
Water connection
z Sealed (pressure-tested) for supplying
several draw-off points.
z Permissible operating pressure: 6 bar.
z Install the cold water safety assembly to
DIN 1988.
z The blow-down line diameter must be
identical to the diameter of the valve
outlet; the line can be a max. of 2 m long.
Select a blow-down line with the next
higher diameter, if this maximum value is
exceeded (2 bends, 2 m long line). Never
install more than 3 bends and a 4 m long
line.
z The drain line must have a diameter twice
as large as that of the valve inlet port,
if the blow-down line is routed into a
blow-down line with funnel. Furthermore
ensure, that the blow-down line is routed
and the
3
with a slope; the outlet must be open
and visible and be routed so, that no
personnel is put at risk during blow-
downs.
z It has proven practical to place a container
underneath the blow-down line. When the
safety valve (13) responds, fluid is collected
Test valve (21)
and can be returned to the system again (if
the pressure in the system is too low).
z Select a max. flow rate 18 l/min at the
butterfly valve (24) of the safety assembly
(18).
z The water pressure is excessive or the
valve seat is contaminated, if the safety
valve (13) drips with the heating system
switched OFF.

2 x
Expansion water will escape from
the safety valve, when water
is heated up. This is a perfectly normal
physical condition.

Power supply
10
The equipment must be able to be separated
from the mains supply, for example by fuses,
which disconnect all poles with at least 3 mm
contact separation.
z Pull off the temperature selector
remove screws and the lower cap.
z Connect the connecting cable with plug
supplied and then tighten the strain relief.
The power supply cable entry
designed for the flexible connecting cable
supplied.
Sensor and pump connection
The sensor and pump connection is only
designed for permanently installed connecting
cables. Use NYM 1.5 mm² cable to carry out the
installation. The sensor cable can be extended
up to 100 m.
Never route the pump connecting cable
