OPERATION
1. Center the cutterhead on the arbor with the conical and straight collars;
2. Put the cutterhead down on the carriage;
3. Check if it rotates freely without play;
4. Eliminate radial play
down;
5. Eliminate axial play
6. With your left hand on the arbor black knob (18), hold the cutterhead with the
knife on the blade rest.
ROUGHING OUT
1. Make series of straight cuts in the direction of the wheel (Fig. 13).
Important note: AVOID EXCESSIVE SIDE-PRESSURE; it can cause the wheel to fracture.
1. Make a straight cut on one knife;
2. Switch to the other knife at the same pilot setting. A square-ended wheel allows
faster cuts.
FINISHING
1. Take cuts by means of the carriage handwheel;
2. Lift-up the HALF-SCREW for quick return of the carriage to the starting point;
3. Rotate the cutterhead to put another knife on the blade-rest;
4. Grind all the knives at a single pilot setting;
at the right side by adjusting the template-rest up or
with the knob (18) and its socket cap-screw inside;
