understood the instructions and the safety warnings contained in this manual,
you must read these instructions prior to the first use and keep in a safe place
for future reference. Your warranty is invalid if you fail to have your lifejacket
serviced according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Pre-wear
YOU MUST CHECK THE FOLLOWING:
1. Check the lifejacket meets your requirements in terms of automatic
or manual inflation, harness or non-harness.
2. Check the inflation system is fully functional.
3. Check the gas cylinder has not been pierced and is
screwed in tightly.
Gas cylinders are dangerous goods and should be kept away from children
and not misused. This lifejacket has CO2 gas inflation, it does not have any
inherent buoyancy unless inflated by the CO2 cylinder or orally inflated by the
user. Minimum 300 Newtons when fully inflated and suitable for users 40KG
upwards. Check before every use that the lifejacket meets the specification you
require and is fully functional.
Harness Model – For users over 40KG
To identify If you have a harness model you should inspect the front of the
buckles to ensure it is fitted with either Stainless steel or webbing D ring (s). If
the lifejacket has an integral harness it should be worn as the outer most layer.
Non-harness model has a buckle only (No D ring) – For users over
40KG
If it's a non-harness model it may be worn over a separate harness.
Automatic Gas inflation
An automatic lifejacket is inflated using CO2 gas. When the inflation
mechanism comes into contact with water it activates the automatic CO2 gas
inflation mechanism. Should for any reason this fail, you should pull down
sharply on the manual firing lanyard, this will manually fire the gas cylinder.
Automatic models will inflate within 5 seconds of immersion in water.
