9. Mount the White wire using the ground screw and eyelet provided.
10. Beginning inside the vehicle, route the black wire connected to
the T-Connectors black box either through an existing grommet or
follow existing wiring along the thresholds to the outside of the vehicle.
Following existing vehicle wiring, continue routing the Black wire into the
engine compartment to the area near the vehicle battery.
Caution: When routing, take care to avoid hot pipes, heat
shields, the fuel tank and any sharp surfaces or moving parts.
11. Remove the vehicle's negative (-) battery cable. If present, remove the
7.5 amp fuse from the supplied in-line fuse holder assembly.
12. Strip 5/16" of insulation from the end of the Black wire and connect it
to the fuse holder assembly using the butt connector provided.
13. With the fuse removed, connect the 3/8" ring terminal on the end of
the fuse holder to the vehicle's Positive (+) battery terminal.
14. Reconnect the vehicle's Negative (-) battery terminal and insert the
7.5 amp fuse into the fuse holder installed in step 12.
Caution: Do not exceed fuse rating of 7.5 amps.
Warning: Do not attempt to connect the Black power wire to
the vehicle fuse panel or any other accessory wiring. Failure
to connect directly to the vehicle battery could cause vehicle
damage and/or trailer light failure.
15. Test the installation with a test light or properly equipped trailer.
16. Secure the remainder of the T-Connector harness using the cable
ties provided. Return all trim panels, access covers, thresholds, cargo
trays and trunk liners to their original positions. Store the 4-flat trailer
connector in the vehicle's cargo tray when not in use.
