Näj
EN
BEFORE FIRST USE
Start by testing the buoyancy with all floats in place. This is
the required level of buoyancy for EN13138-1: 2014.
Removing the number of floats (i.e., reducing the buoyancy)
adjusts the level of safety provided by the vest, as your child
will be less buoyant.
HOW TO USE THE NÄJ
Depending on your child's swimming skills, adjust the level of
buoyancy by following these steps:
1. Remove an equal amount of floats
back of the Näj (starting from the middle), until your
child is floating at shoulder level.
2. Once you reach the appropriate level of buoyancy,
stop removing floats
is securely fastened.
3. Hold your child's hands and encourage your child to
kick with their legs and let go of your hands, one at a
time.
4. When your child is ready, they will discover that it is safe
to leave your side and move freely around the pool.
5. Once your child is swimming with confidence, begin
removing one or two floats
maintain balance), so your child can get used to the
lower level of buoyancy.
6. Once the last set of floats is removed and your child
swims unaided for the first time, you should both feel a
sense of accomplishment.
