Please remember that the Näj is not a life jacket. Children
must always be supervised, when in or near the water, by a
responsible adult swimmer.
It is very important to stay with your child at all times in the
water and to hold their hand. Make sure your child gains
confidence and learns to control the level of buoyancy of
the Näj while finding their own sense of balance.
TIPS ON GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR NÄJ
•
When transitioning from inflatable arm bands or seats,
it is important to give your child time to adjust to the new
sense of balance provided by the Näj swim vest.
•
Some children take longer than others to become
confident in the water. It's worth it to be patient
with a nervous child, as the freedom offered
by the Näj will give your child plenty of enjoyment.
•
It is essential to use the appropriate amount of floats. It is
unsafe to wear too many floats or too few.
•
It is important that your child controls the buoyancy, and
not the other way around.
•
Remember that your child cannot remain motionless in
the water. Your child must move their arms and legs.
•
As a safety precaution, reset the original number of floats
for your child when:
• Your child is playing by the water
• Your child is tired at the end of a swimming session
• You are teaching your child a new swimming
technique
