2.1.1
Transport
SLIBETTE 6 and 8 grinder/polishers are supplied packed in a cardboard box. If the machine is on
a plinth it is delivered on a transport pallet.
2.1.2
Handling
SLIBETTE 6 and 8 grinder/polishers can be easily transported in the packaging in which they are
delivered. If the grinder is on a plinth, it must be verified that the plinth is bolted securely to the
transport pallet.
2.1.3
Setup
Grinder/polishers must be set up on a secure, even surface. Then the grinder/polisher must be
fastened securely to the floor or onto a workshop bench by means of the four holes that were
used to attach the grinder/polisher to the pallet.
The electrical voltage used for connection must be within the stated voltages shown on the
motor plate.
The machine must be connected with reference to the electrical diagram (see section 7.6).
The task of electrical connection must be undertaken by an authorised electrician. Check that
the motor has the correct rotation direction (see arrow on the shield).
Prior to use, check that the grinding wheel (A) can rotate freely without becoming loose. The
grinding unit (B) must be adjusted so there is a distance of approx. 2 mm between the unit and
the grinding wheel. The eye guard (C) must be clean and in the correct position.
All these checks and adjustments may only be performed if the machine is switched off. When
starting the grinder for the first time, run it at maximum speed for approx. 5 minutes before use.
Make sure you keep a safe distance from the machine during this time.
