3.2- Additional safety rules for pneumatic tools
• Never use oxygen, combustible or compressed gas cylinder as an air source.
• Always shut off air supply, drain hose of air pressure and disconnect tool from air supply
when not in use, before changing accessories or when making repairs.
• Never direct air at yourself or anyone else.
• Whipping hoses can cause severe injury. Always check for damaged or loose hoses and
fittings.
• Be aware that air hoses can present a trip hazard, always lay hoses in a way that minimises
hazards.
• Whenever universal twist couplings are used, lock pins should be installed and whipcheck
safety cables should be used to safeguard against possible hose-to-tool or tool-to-hose
connection failure.
• Do not exceed the maximum air pressure stated on the tool.
• Never carry an air tool by the hose.
• Ensure the air tool is switched OFF before connecting to air supply. Be aware that air tools
may hold residual pressure after use. Always bleed air pressure from the tool after shutting
off air supply.
• Maintain labels and rating plate through the life of service.
• Do not use the tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication.
• Store idle tool out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the tool
or these instructions to operate it.
3.3- Special warnings when using spray gun
• WARNING! Do not aim a spray gun at people or animals!
• WARNING! Solvents and paints are flammable, harmful and can even be toxic. Only use
spraying tools in a well-ventilated area or a specialist spray booth.
• WARNING! NEVER smoke while spraying or preparing paints, or spray near open flame,
heat source and electric sparks. Fire extinguishing equipment must be present in the work
area.
• WARNING! Wear hearing protection. Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.
• Read and know all the instructions on the packaging label and the MSDS before opening the
materials package.
• Use personal protective equipment. Always wear safety goggles, dust mask and earmuffs
when using the tool. Use an approved respirator designed for use with your specific
application.
• Use correct air hose, refer to Table 1 for hose specifications.
• When spraying, ensure that the gun is connected to a clean, filtered air supply.
• Ensure that your air tool has completely stopped functioning before putting it down.
• Disconnect an air tool from the air supply before performing any servicing or refilling.
• Store solvents and paint in suitable sealed, leak proof containers and away from any heat
sources.
• Do not use the tools in any operations that beyond the intended purpose.
