Operating Instructions
This two-way radio set is made for kids. Ideal in shape and size for small hands and easy
to handle. It fulfills the high requirements of toy safety. The talk range up to 2 km* offers
plenty of outside activities.
Read and follow this manual and safety precautions carefully before use. Please retain
instruction and packaging since they contain important information.
Battery installation: Switch off the radio and remove the belt clip (Fig. 1). An adult should
open the battery compartment door (Fig. 2) and insert 3 x AAA alkaline batteries according
to the anode and cathode signs shown in the battery compartment (and Fig. 3). When bat-
teries are installed, LCD will automatically indicate default channel 01. Close the battery
compartment door.
Please note: Don´t mix new and old, different styles, alkaline and rechargeable and different
capacity batteries. Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity. There is danger of
explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type. To
avoid battery leakage remove batteries in case they are not used for a longer time. If batteries
are damaged, they should be disposed of carefully. Exhausted batteries are to be removed from
the toy. Do not dispose of the batteries to heat source to avoid explosion. Never throw them
into fire! Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged. Rechargeable batteries are to be
removed from the toy before being charged. Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged
under adult supervision. The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. Attention should
be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
Power On/Off: On: Press and hold key
indicates the unit is ready for use and the LCD will show current channel. Off: Press and
hold key
for 3 seconds to turn off the unit. A »BI« sound will also be heard and the LCD
will switch off.
Channel Setting: Select the same channel as that of your partner (01-08). When power on,
press key
, a »BI« sound will be heard. LCD will show current channel flashing. Press
key  p  or  q  to change the channel. Press key
seconds for the unit to automatically switch to the selected channel.
To Make a Call: Press CALL key one time, the melody will ring on both units.
To Transmit & Receive a Signal: Press and hold PTT key and speak into the microphone.
While speaking the unit should be held about 5 cm off your mouth. Speak in the direction of the
microphone with normal voice. This will prevent distortion and interference at the receiver´s
end. Release the PTT key to receive a signal. Note: If PTT key is pressed and held above 3
minutes, transmission will stop and a warning signal sounds. Meanwhile, the partner who is
in receiving status will stop receiving. Press PTT key again, and transmission will continue.
Do not touch the antenna during transmission.
Roger Beep: When releasing the PTT key, the unit changes into receiving status. A »BI«
sound will be heard in both units indicating the conversation is over.
Volume Setting: Press key  p  or  q  to select desired volume. There are four volume levels:
L1 (low minimum) up to L4 (loud maximum). Press key
7 seconds for the unit to automatically switch to the selected volume.
Auto Channel Scan: Press key
2 times, LCD »SC« will be flashing. Press key  p  or  q  to
start auto channel scan running through all channels. Channel scanning stops once a signal
is detected. Press key
to confirm this channel. LCD will now show the same channel as
transmitting unit. Note: Channel scanning can be interrupted by pressing any key.
Low Battery Indication: When battery level becomes low, LCD will show »LL«. The unit
can still be operated but LCD keeps »LL« indication. Change the batteries to ensure correct
operation of the radio. Once the battery is too low, the unit will turn off automatically.
Auto Squelch: The auto squelch control eliminates unintentional interference during com-
munication.
*Communication Range: Up to 2 km in clear unobstructed conditions. Steel or concrete
structures to each other or heavy foliage may decrease the communication range. Clear un-
obstructed areas (e.g. at sea, from mountain top to mountain top) and radio communication
at night improve the operating distance.

Trouble Shooting
No Power: Reposition or replace batteries.
Message not transmitted: Make sure the PTT button is completely pressed during transmission.
Reposition or replace batteries. Make sure the microphone hole is not blocked.
Message not received: Confirm radios have the same channel settings. Make sure PTT is
not inadvertently being pressed. Obstructions operating indoors or in vehicles may interfere
with communication. Change your location. Check to make sure volume is loud enough to
be heard. Reposition or replace batteries.
Hearing other conversation or noise on a channel: Shared channel may be in use. Try
another channel.
Limited talk range: Steel/concrete structures between each other, heavy foliage will decrease
talk range. Check for clear line of sight to improve transmission. Wearing radio close to body
such as in a pocket or on a belt will decrease range, change location of radio.
Interferences: Radios are too close to each other. The distance in between must be at least
2 meters apart, increase your distance. Or radios are too far apart. Obstacles may interfere
with transmission.
Important Information
Do not use this radio nearby pacemakers. Turn it off as soon as interference with medical
equipment is taking place. Do not use the radio in airplanes, hospitals or any area with po-
tentially explosive atmosphere. Do not operate the radio if you detect any damage of antenna
or housing. Kindly note that this product is using the common communication channel. If
there are other users on the same channel, there is the possibility to receive signals from
these other users as well.
Protect your radio from dirt, dust, water and moisture as well as from high temperature due
to solar irradiation. To reduce the risk of electric shock do not expose this appliance to rain or
moisture. To clean your radio use a soft cloth dampened with water. Do not use corrosive chemical
solvents as they may harm the body of the unit and leak inside causing permanent damage.
Never open the radio´s case or adjust the settings inside of it. Never change or replace anything
in your radio except the batteries, otherwise warranty will extinguish. Only use batteries –
never connect this appliance to any other power source.
European User Regulations
No licence and no fees are required for the use of this PMR Walkie Talkie FUN (no. 2616)
in EC countries* and Switzerland. If operated in other countries it is absolutely necessary to
check the local, prevailing regulations.
*Italy: There is an obligatory registration and a one-time fee for users living in Italy.

or package indicates that this product should not be disposed of via the normal

from other waste streams to ensure that it can be recycled in an environmentally sound man-
ner. For more details on available collection facilities please contact your local government
office. Remove any batteries, rechargeable or not, that may be present in this product before
scrapping it and dispose of them separately. This information only applies to customers in the
