2. DESCRIPTION
2-1 Presentation
You have purchased an ALF2412 type power supply. We thank you and congratulate
you for your good choice.
This device was manufactured in accordance with European standard EN 61010-1.
This instructions manual contains informations and warnings the buyer must comply
with in order to ensure safe and sustained operation.
This instrument is intended for professional, educational or industrial uses.

3. WORKING
3-1 Safety instructions
In order to avoid electronic problems, this device must be used following the

instructions of this document.
Designed for indoors use and to an altitude below 2000m, do not expose to the
rain.
For a natural and correct cooling, the instrument have to be installed on its 4

rubber feet and all openings must be widely cleared.
The plug of the Main cord is used as the device of cutting, the power supply
must be connected to a plug easily accessible and near.
No intervention is authorized inside the power supply, risk of electric shock.
3-2 Operation
3-2-1 Normal operation
ALF2412 is delivered adjusted at 24V ±0.5%.
Share Bus
Plug the power supply to the main and switch on (ON/OFF switch). The green LED
(ON : voltage presence) lights up after 3 seconds. Your power supply is working.
3-2-2 Operation with a voltage output different from 24 V
On/ Off
- Plug the power supply to the main and switch on (ON/OFF switch). The green LED
Switch
(ON : voltage presence) lights up after 3 seconds and the 24V voltage is present on
the output.
Main
- Connect a voltmeter on the output and adjust the desired voltage thanks to the
input voltage
adjustment.
- Disconnect the voltmeter.
- Connect the charge.
3-2-3 Paralleling
 ALF2412 has a load share controller "Share Bus" which manages the share of
the current between an unlimited number of power supplies of the same type.
Precautions
In order to easier the wiring, we advise you not to exceed 2 power supplies.
The power supplies are delivered adjusted at 24 V ±0.5%, so they can be put in parallel
directly. On the other hand, if you need a different voltage value, you will have to
do the adjustement following § 3-2-2 with a max. variation of 3%, so 0.7 V between
the power supplies. The output voltage value once connected in parallel will be given
by the one with the highest voltage.

The recommended wiring for paralleling is the following :
- link the "Share bus" between the power supplies (lead with 2 mm plug).
- link the "+" and the "-" of each power supply with wires of the same lenght and same
section (25A) directly to the use.
4. OPERATION
ALF2412 is a switching and regulated DC power supply with a floating output (potential
free), protected against short-circuits. If the requested current is superior to the one

the ALF2412 can supply, a current limitation starts and the output voltage decreases.
The fan only works when necessary.
Indicator:
Green LED : "ON" the output voltage is present.
Red LED : "STATUS" the protection against overheat is active or a regulation defect
limits the output voltage at 34 V.
5. MAINTENANCE
No particular maintenance is required for this instrument.
Avoid dust, humidity, shocks : your instrument will be grateful to you for that.
If the green indicator does not light up when plugging, check :
- the connection to the main input voltage
- Main voltage presence
if red LED lights up, the power supply has a regulation defect and the output is limited
at 34 V, or it works in overheat (problem with the fan) and the output is cut.
In this case, please return this power supply to our after sales service.
6.AFTER SALES SERVICE
During TWO YEARS, spare parts and workmanship are guaranteed. This guarantee
does not apply to instrument presenting defects or failures caused by an improper use.
Return expenses are borne by the client. Only devices returned with a dated purchasing
invoice can be recovered by the guarantee. Any intervention carried out by
unauthorized persons or organizations, shall void the guarantee.
