General instructions

When using the iron for the first time, a small amount of smoke and noise may be emitted as
the plastic expands. This is completely normal and will stop after a short while. We recommend
ironing an old cloth as a test before ironing your clothes for the first time.
Recommendations regarding using your iron for the first time
1.
Some parts of the iron have been lightly greased at the factory and therefore, the iron
may emit a small amount of smoke when plugged in for the first time. This will stop after
a short while.
2.
Before using the iron for the first time, remove the plastic cover from the soleplate (if
fitted) and clean the soleplate with a soft cloth.
3.
Make sure that the surface of the soleplate is ultra-smooth. Do not pass it over metal
objects (e.g. the metal parts of an ironing board, buttons, zips, etc.).
4.
The unit can be used to iron pure wool fibres (100% wool) in steam mode; preferably use
a high steam setting and a dry pressing cloth.
Adjusting the temperature
1.
Refer to the ironing instructions provided on the care label of the garment to be ironed.
2.
If the garment does not have a care label or instructions, but you know its fabric type,
check the table below.
3.
Textiles with a special finish (lustring, pleats, contrasts, etc.), can be ironed at a low
temperature.
4.
If a fabric comprises more than one type of fibre, always use a suitable temperature for
all the fibres. E.g. if an item is composed of 60% polyester and 40% cotton, you should
always use the suitable temperature for polyester and not use the steam function.
5.
Start by sorting the items to be ironed according to the most suitable ironing temperature.
I.e. wool with wool, and cotton with cotton, etc. Since the iron heats up faster than it
cools, start by ironing the items that require the coolest setting, such as those made
from synthetic fibres. Then move on to the garments for the next heat setting, and so on.
6.
Turn the temperature knob until it is aligned with the appropriate marking, as shown below:
MIN
minimum soleplate temperature
·
Nylon and acetate
··
Wool, silk and blended textiles
···
Cotton and linen (steam).
MAX
maximum soleplate temperature
Filling the water tank.
1.
Plug in the iron.
2.
Set the steam knob to the dry iron function.
3.
Fill the tank via the water filler opening without exceeding the MAX. level.
4.
If the water in your area is hard, we recommend only using distilled or deionised water.
Do not use chemically treated or scented water.
