Pre-mounted systems, all Rod Systems up to Ø d
The DETAN Rod Systems are pre-mounted on the system length L

observed. The minimum screw-in depth is reached when the markings
on both sides of the rods are concealed by the locking nuts .
System variants with coupler(s) are partly pre-mounted on the rods.
For the final assembly on the construction site refer to the instruction
for single components below.
Single components, Rod Systems Ø d
1. The DETAN Locking nut has to be screwed completely over the DE-
TAN Tension Rod. Afterwards place the flat sealing over the thread.
Then screw the fork connector on the tension rod until the the re-
quired system length is achieved. Now the flat sealing must be cent-
red and the lock nut has to be screwed back towards the fork con-
nector until it is locked .
2. There are special markings on the DETAN Tension Rod to ensure, by
screwing the locknut up properly, that the minimum screw-in depth
into the fork end is achieved. This is confirmed when the mark is
obscured and the locknut is properly tightened .
3. The pin in the fork connector is secured by two circlips, one on each
side. Use sprung pliers for the installation of the circlips.
Identification
The DETAN tension rods are supplied with an identification tag, which
shows the product designation and the component allocation.
DETAN Fork connectors
are always supplied with a colour coded end plug, which allows easy
identification :
blue = lefthand thread, yellow = righthand thread
DETAN Locking nuts
with lefthand thread can be identified by a circular
groove , which can be seen from the end facing the
tension rod. Locking nuts with righthand thread are
not marked.
The DETAN sealing system
provides additional protection to the threads from ingress of dirt and
moisture .
The round seal is inserted into the locking nut at works. Check the cor-
rect seating in the circular notch before inserting the DETAN Rod.
We recommend the outer joints of the locking nuts on the construction
site to be sealed applying a permanent elastic silicone which is designed
for external use.
Sealing with silicone in connecting couplers of sizes < M16 must be princi-
pally carried out.
