Bumper beam
Authorized Drawbar Kit:

Drawbar must be used in the
RISE position only.
1. Remove (2) plastic underbody panels – using a flat head screwdriver, remove (4) plastic push pin rivets and loosen (1) threaded fasteners from the driver's side panel located near wheel
well area. Remove (4) push pin rivets and loosen (1) threaded fastener from the passenger's side panel.
2a. Remove lower fascia - using a flat head screwdriver, remove (4) plastic push pin rivets from the lower fascia. 1 is located on both the driver and passenger side along with the
remaining 2 near the center of the fascia. S ee Figure 2.
2b. Remove lower fascia – Using a Philips head screwdriver remove 2 screw from the driver and passenger sides.
2c. Remove lower fascia - using plastic trim panel tools, starting at outer edges near wheel well, while gently pulling rearward, release clips and remove lower fascia. NOTE: There are 3
wire harness mounting clips on the top that need to be removed.
3. Remove bumper beam – using a 12mm socket, remove (8) M 8 bolts, (4) per side, that hold bumper beam to end panel, and return factory bolts to vehicle owner. S ee Figure 1.
4. Modify bumper beam – using a hammer, bend the metal tabs on back of bumper beam so they are flush with bumper beam mounting surface. S ee Figure 3.
5. Install hitch - apply silicone sealant to the hitch bracket mounting surfaces to prevent intrusion of water and exhaust fumes. S ee figure 4. Raise hitch and bumper beam into position
aligning holes with weldnuts in the end panel. Sandwich the hitch between the bumper beam and end panel.
6. Install fasteners – using a 13mm socket, install (8) M 8 hex bolts, helical lock washers, and flat washers provided with hitch into weldnuts in end panel, (4) per side.
7. Tighten all M8 CL8.8 fasteners with torque wrench to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N*M)
8. Reinstall lower fascia – reinstall the lower fascia aligning tabs in lower fascia with upper fascia. Reinstall all additional wires/hardware previously removed from step 2.
9. Reinstall wheel well trim and underbody panels – reinstall (2) underbody panels using the original fasteners noted in step 1.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which
has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety
specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
