9. Using the carbon monoxide detector for the first time
Remove the device from its packaging and remove any packaging material. Open
the battery compartment on the back of the unit and insert 2x 1.5V AAA batte-
ries. Otherwise the battery compartment cannot be closed. Make sure that the
polarity of the batteries is correct.

9.1 Normal mode

When carbon monoxide is not present, the green LED flashes once every 50
seconds.
9.2 Testing the carbon monoxide detector
Press the key "test/hush" on the front side of the device. It simulates now a high
CO concentration. The carbon monoxide detector detects the increased value
and sounds an alarm. The green and yellow LEDs glow continuously. The red LED
flashes. In the display, the current CO value and a speaker symbol appear.
